Username vs. Login Name

Understanding the difference between a Username and a Login Name is crucial for navigating various online platforms and systems.

Username

• A username is a unique identifier users select to represent themselves on a platform. This critical element serves as a key for logging into the JFW ecosystem and a recognizable name for interaction. As a cornerstone of digital identity, a username facilitates seamless access and interaction across various computers, networks, and online services affiliated with JFW. It is visible to others and typically used for communication within forums, social networks, and other digital communities.

• Example: In a social media context, your username might be @steven.bang, which is visible to other users.

In JFW, the Username is case-insensitive.

Login Name

• The Login Name functions purely for authentication. Our JFW platform caters to a diverse user base by offering several login alternatives. If remembering usernames is challenging, JFW accommodates various identifiers as your login name. You can choose to log in with any of the following options:

  • Email Address: This is A convenient choice for those mainly using their email. It's also beneficial for resetting passwords.

  • User Code: Upon registration, you're assigned a unique code that can also be used to log in.

  • Username: A traditional method for users who prefer a standard login approach.

  These identifiers and your password ensure secure and flexible access to the JFW platform.

• Example: To access your online banking, your login name might be your email address or a customer number, which is not necessarily public.

While both serve as identifiers, the Username is for social identification within the platform, and the Login Name is primarily for secure access control.
